It’s been almost a month since any new content appeared on IC, and while that’s no good to anybody, rumours of our death have been greatly exaggerated. The reason for the radio silence is simple. We’ve moved. Again. Eight months after switching the brights lights of the capital city for the coast, we’ve gone big and set up in permenant new digs, complete with a kitted-out games room set in the roof. It’s a fantastic little space to play games and write about them, and now we’re all settled and old retro consoles have finally been unpacked from well-worn boxes, we’re ready to go once again.
So what new games do we have to play in our sparkly new games room? Well in all the turbulence of moving, we’ve had precious little time to scout around on eBay and in bargain bins for those forgotten gems, and instead gone for recent high-profile retail releases instead. And for Crackdown 2. That we managed to pick up for the tiny sum of £7.85.
The other two we picked up for full price. Both Shadows Of The Damned and inFamous 2 were snapped up for the Xbox 360 and PS3 respectively. Whilst we’ve barely scratched the surface of Sucker Punch’s ’superhero’ sequel, we have already managed to polish off the Suda 51/Shinji Mikami collaboration, and found it occassionally fantastic, sometimes by-the-numbers and always batshit insane. It’s a little on the short side, and completion doesn’t unlock any extras rather than straightforward repeat runs through the campaign. Time will tell whether we pick it up again for a more in-depth look.
Full details of the new additions can be found below. Expect more from IC now the dust has settled on our move.
