ICC Update #25
Of shiny new consoles and expensive habits.
April 2, 2011
infinitecontinues
It’s rare that we dig deep into our dusty pockets to scrimp the notes for brand new titles as opposed to old, cheap ones, but that’s exactly what’s been happening recently. March saw a veritable glut of high-profile games released and, of course, a brand new console. The Nintendo 3DS has arrived, promising eye strain and headaches for all, and we decided to pick one up on launch day, along with the two most appealing (to us, anyway) launch titles, Pilotwings Resort and Super Street Fighter IV 3D. You’ll be able to read our first impressions of Ninty’s latest handheld very soon indeed. Home consoles got an expensive installment of FPS loving too, with Killzone 3, Homefront and Crysis 2 all being added to the collection. We also snaffled up the utterly whimsical and adorable Kirby’s Epic Yarn, one of the most beautiful and original (in looks at least) games in recent times.
Of course, it wouldn’t be an IC Update without a few bargains thrown in for equal measure amongst all those shiny new retail purchases. We also filled our boots with Banjo & Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Battlefield 2: Modern Combat and Dark Void for the 360, and Insomiac’s Resistance 2 for the PS3. We also picked up Yakuza 4, because there’s nothing that soothes the pains of a long day like running around a fictional Japanese city picking up dozens and dozens of sparkling locker keys, with a side order of beating down fools in the process. It’s a bumper update, in short, and you can find the full details below:
