Pixel sprites from the NES era are some of the most iconic ever created, often the inspiration for many videogame artworks. This is especially true when two of the most recognisable characters from the era are used, in this case Megaman and Mario, to create bizarre but awesome hybrid creations. Flickr user Ricardo Sudário has done just that, splicing characters from the Mushroom Kingdom with those from Capcom’s game. Check them out below and then go check Ricardo’s Photostream for more pixellated creations and other awesome, non-videogame-related art.

Megaman meets Mario.

Proto Man meets Luigi.

Dr. Wily meets Bowser.

Met meets Piranha Plant.

I know Richard, and his imagination can go beyond expectations. I have followed his work and see that the result was very good. =)
